A S U S M 2 V - M X 2 - 1 1 2.2 BIOS setup program This motherboard supports a programmable Low-Pin Count (LPC) chip that you can update using the provided utility described in section âÂÂ2.1 Managing and updating your BIOS.â Use the BIOS Setup program when you are installing a motherboard, reconîÂÂguring your system, or prompted toâÂÂRun Setup.â This section explains how to conîÂÂgure your system using this utility. Even if you are not prompted to use the Setup program, you can change the conîÂÂguration of your computer in the future. For example, you can enable the security password feature or change the power management settings. This requires you to reconîÂÂgure your system using the BIOS Setup program so that the computer can recognize these changes and record them in the CMOS RAM of the LPC chip. The LPC chip on the motherboard stores the Setup utility. When you start up the computer, the system provides you with the opportunity to run this program. Press <Del> during the Power-On Self-Test (POST) to enter the Setup utility; otherwise, POST continues with its test routines. If you wish to enter Setup after POST, reboot the system by doing any of the following procedures: ⢠R e s t a r t u s i n g t h e O S s t a n d a r d s h u t - d o w n p r o c e d u r e . ⢠P r e s s < C t r l > < A l t > < D e l > s i m u l t a n e o u s l y . ⢠P r e s s t h e r e s e t b u t t o n o n t h e s y s t e m c h a s s i s . ⢠P r e s s t h e p o w e r b u t t o n t o t u r n t h e s y s t e m o f f t h e n b a c k o n . Using the power button, reset button, or the <Ctrl> <Alt> <Del> keys to force reset from a running operating system can cause damage to your data or system.
