• The touch screen r equires periodic cleaning to perform at optimal touch sensitivity . Keep the screen clean from f oreign objects or excessiv e dust accumulation. T o clean the screen: - T urnothesystemanddisconnectthepowerc ordfromthe wall. - Spray a small amount of household glass cleaner on the supplied cleaning cloth and gently wipe the surface of the screen. - Do not spray the cleaner directly on the screen. • Donotuseanabrasivecleaneroracoarseclothwhencleaning the screen. • If you encounter the follo wing technical problems with the product, unplug the power cor d and contact a qualied ser vice technician or your retailer . - The power cor d or plug is damaged. - Liquid has been spilled into the system. - The system does not function properly even if y ou follow the operating instructions. - The system was dr opped or the cabinet is damaged. - The system performance changes. Sound Pressure W arning Excessive sound pr essure from earphones or headphones can cause hearing loss or permanent damage to hearing. Increasing the volume and equalizer beyond default levels incr eases the output voltage and sound pressure produc ed by the earphones or headphones. Adapter 1. Getting to know your ASUS All-in-One PC ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 13 Chapter 1: Hardware Setup Built-in digital microphone This built-in digital microphone can be used f or video conferencing , voice narrations , audio recordings , and multimedia applications. W ebcam The built-in webcam allow s you to take pictures or recor d videos using your ASUS All-in-One PC. W ebcam LED Indicates that the built-in webcam is enabled. Fr ont view
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 14 Built-in digital microphone (optional) This built-in digital microphone can be used f or video conferencing , voice narrations , audio recordings , and multimedia applications. L CD display (T ouch-enabled) The 19.5-inch multi-touch panel L CD display provides excellent viewing features f or photos, videos, and other multimedia les . It also allows you to operate y our ASUS All-in-One PC using touch gestures. Windo ws® 8.1 touch button T ouch this button to go back to the Start screen. If you are already in the Start screen, touch this button to go back to the last app you opened.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 15 T op side Po wer indicator This LED power indicat or lights up when the ASUS All-in-One PC is turned on or on sleep mode. Battery charge indicator This LED lights up when the ASUS All-in-One PC is plugged to a power sourc e and currently charging its battery . Po wer button Press the po wer button to turn your ASUS All-in-One PC on oro . Y oucanalsousethepowerbuttontoputy ourASUS All-in-One PC to sleep or hibernate mode and wake it up from sleep or hibernate mode. In the event that your ASUS All-in-One PC becomes unresponsive , press and hold the power button f or about four (4) seconds until your ASUS All-in-One PC shuts down.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 16 Mode button Press t o switch the display signal sourc e. When switched to HDMI-in, the ASUS All-in-One PC can be used as a standard desktop L CD monitor . OSD menu button Press this butt on to launch the onscreen display (OSD ) menu of your ASUS All-in-One PC. NOTE: F or more details, refer to the Using the Onscreen Display (OSD) Menu section in this user guide. Right side Left side
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 17 V olume button Press t o increase or decrease the volume . HDMI Input Port When using the HDMI-in mode, use the HDMI Input port for receiving video/audio sig nals from another source such as a set-top-box or DVD player . HDMI Output Port Connect this port with devices equipped with an HDMI input port, such as an LCD monitor or pr ojector . USB 3.0 ports These Universal Serial Bus 3.0 (USB 3.0) ports connect to USB 3.0 devices such as a mouse, printer , scanner, camera, and others. Headphone output/microphone input combo port This port allows you to connect your ASUS All-in-One PC to amplied speakers or headphones. Y ou can also use this port to connect your ASUS All-in-One PC (when used separately) to an external microphone .
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 18 Po wer input The bundled power adapter c onverts AC power t o DC power for use with this jack. P ower supplied through this jack supplies power to the ASUS All-in-One PC. T o prevent damage to the ASUS A ll-in-One PC, always use the bundled power adapter . W ARNING! The power adapt er may become warm or hot when in use. Do not cover the adapt er and keep it away from y our body . USB 2.0 port (dedicated for KBM USB receiver dongle) For smoother usage in Windows® 8.1, connect the KBM USB receiver dongle int o this port. This USB (Univ ersal Serial Bus) por t is compatible with USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 devices such as keyboards, pointing devic es, ash disk drives, external HDDs, speakers, camer as and printers. Kensington® lock port The Kensington® lock port allows you to secure y our ASUS All-in-One PC using Kensington® compatible security products.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 19 Rear view Audio speakers The built-in audio speaker allows y ou to hear audio straight from the ASUS All-in-One PC. The audio featur es of this ASUS All-in-One PC are software -controlled. Built-in NFC tag The built-in NFC (Near F ield Communication) tag allows you t o conveniently shar e pictures. T o use the NFC tag, put the other NFC- enabled device near your ASUS All-in-One PC’ s NFC tag. NOTE : The NFC sticker on the rear panel of your ASUS All-in- One PC indicates the location of the NFC tag.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 20 Air vents The air vents allow c ool air to enter and warm air to exit the ASUS All-in-One PC. W ARNING! Ensure that paper, books , clothing, cables, or other objects do not block any of the air vents or else overheating may occur . ASUS All-in-One PC handle Carry the ASUS All-in- One PC easily using this ergonomic handle. 3-in-1 Memory card reader This ASUS All-in-One PC has a built-in memory card reader slot that supports MMC, SD, SDHC, SD X C cards. ASUS All-in-One PC stand Pull out and adjust the stand to pro vide stable support for your ASUS All-in-One PC when it is placed on a table or desk.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 21 Positioning your ASUS All-in-One PC IMPORT ANT! • UsebothhandswhensettingupyourASUSAll-in-OnePC • Avoid adjusting the displa y to an angle beyond the recommended values or you may risk damaging the ASUS All-in-One PC. 1. ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 23 Setting up your ASUS All-in-One PC Connecting the wireless k eyboard and mouse (optional) 1. Install batteries into the wireless keyboard and mouse . 3. Y ou can begin using the wireless keyboard and mouse . 2. Connect the wireless dongle for keyboard and mouse t o the USB 2.0 port to automatically pair both devices to your ASUS All-in- One PC.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 24 P owering on the sy stem W ARNING! DO NOT connect the AC power cord t o an AC outlet prior to connecting the DC plug to the system. Doing so may damage the AC-DC adapter . A. Connect the AC power c ord to the AC/DC adapt er . B. P lug the AC power adapt er into a 100V~240V power sour ce. C. Connect the DC power connector into y our Notebook PC’ s power (DC) input. D . P ress the power button.

ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 26 Using the Onscreen Display (OSD) Menu The Onscreen Display ( OSD) menu will display when you: 1. Press the OSD menu butt on on the left side of your ASUS All-in- One PC. 2. Connect an HDMI cable to the rear HDMI input port. T o navigate through the OSD functions or modify OSD settings, press the V olume up or V olume down keys below the menu button. T o activate the selected function, press the Menu button again. NOTE: Ref er to the section Getting to know your ASUS All-in-One PC for the location of the OSD menu buttons.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 27 Using the OSD functions Panel O Pressthisbutt ontoswitchothedisplay . Color • Brightness: This setting can be adjusted using values between 0 to 100. • Contr ast: This setting can be adjusted using values between 0 to 100. • Color T emp.: F our color modes are available - Cool, Normal, W arm, and User mode. Image • Sharpness: This setting can be adjusted using values between 0 to 100. • AspectControl: Select the aspect ratio to “Full” or “OverScan” . This setting is available only when you use the ASUS A ll-in-One PC as a standard desktop L CD monitor . • AutoA djust: Adjusts the horizontal position (H-P osition) and the vertical position ( V-Position) of the display . This f eature is available only when you use the ASUS All-in-One PC as a standard desktop L CD monitor . • Language: Sets the OSD language. • AllReset: Resets all OSD settings to defaults.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 28 Input Select • ASUSAll-in-OnePC: Displays video produced by the ASUS All- in-One PC. • HDMI: Display video input from the HDMI Input port. Sy stem Setup • OSDSetup: 1. H-Position - A djusts the horizontal position of the OSD menu. 2. V-P osition - Adjusts the vertical position of the OSD menu. 3. OSD Timeout - Sets the display duration of OSD menu fr om 10 to 120 seconds. 4. DDC/CI - Enables or disables the DDC/CI (Display Data Channel/Command Interface). • Information: Displays r esolution and refresh rat e. Exit Exit from the OSD menu.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 29 Using the touch screen The touch screen panel of y our ASUS All-in-One PC provides excellent viewing features f or photos, videos, and other multimedia les on y our ASUS All-in-One PC. It also suppor ts the 10-point multi-touch feature that facilitates smoother and more accur ate touch gestures allowing you to operate y our ASUS All-in-One PC faster and easier . IMPORT ANT: Do not use sharp objects such as scissors or ballpoint pens on the touch screen to prev ent dents and scratches which may cause the touchscreen to become unr esponsive.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 30 Left edge swipe Right edge swipe Swipe from the left edge of the screen to shue your running apps. Swipe from the right edge of the screen to launch the Charms bar . Using touch scr een panel gestures NOTE: The f ollowing screenshots are f or referenc e only . T he touch screen panel’ s appearance may vary depending on model. The gestures allow y ou to launch programs and acc ess the settings of your ASUS All-in-One PC. The functions can be activated by using the hand gestures to your ASUS All-in-One PC’ s touch screen panel.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 31 T op edge swip e Finger slide • IntheStartscreen,swipefrom the top edge of the screen to view the Customiz e bar . • Inarunningapp,swipefrom the top edge of the screen to view its menu. Slide your nger to scroll up and down and slide your nger to pan the screen left or right. Zoom out Zoom in Bring together your two ngers on the touch panel. Spread apart your two ngers on the touch panel.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 32 T ap/Double tap T ap/click and hold • T ap an app to launch it. • On Desktop mode, double- tap an item to launch it. • T o move an app , tap and hold the app tile and drag it to a new location. • T o close an app, tap and hold the top side of the running app and drag it down to the bottom of the screen to close it.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 33 Chapter 3: W ork ing with W indows® 8.1 NOTE: The operating system varies with country or region. Starting for the rst time When you start your computer for the rst time , a series of screens appear to guide you in conguring your Windows® 8.1 operating sy stem. T o start your ASUS All-in- One PC for the rst time: 1. Press the po wer button on your ASUS All-in-One PC. W ait for a few minutes until the setup screen appears. 2. Fr om the setup screen, pick your reg ion and a language to use on your ASUS All-in-One PC. 3. Carefully read the Lic ense T erms. Select I accept. 4. Follo w the onscreen instructions to congure the f ollowing basic items: • P ersonalize • Getonline • Settings • Y ouraccount 5. After conguring the basic items, Windows® 8.1 proceeds to install your apps and pref erred settings. Ensure that y our ASUS All-in- One PC is kept powered on during the setup pr ocess. 6. Once the setup process is complet e, the Start screen appears.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 34 Windows ® UI Windows® 8.1 c omes with a tile-based user inter face (UI) which allows you to organize and easily ac cess Window s® apps from the Start screen. It also includes the following features tha t you can use while working on your ASUS All-in-One PC. Start screen The Start screen appears after successfully signing in to your user account. It helps organize all the applications y ou need in just one place. Windo ws® Apps These are apps pinned on the St art screen and displayed on tiled-format for easy access . NOTE: Some apps requir e signing in to your Microsoft account bef ore they are fully launched.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 35 Hotspots Onscreen hotspots allow you t o launch programs and access the settings of your ASUS All-in-One PC. The functions in these hotspots can be activated using your mouse. Hotspots on a running app Hotspots on the Start screen
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 36 Hotspot Action upper left corner Hover your mouse point er on the upper left corner then tap/click on the recent app ’ s thumbnail to revert back to that running app. If you launched more than one app , slide down to show all running apps. lower left corner Fr om a running app screen: Hover your mouse point er on the lower left corner then tap/click to go back to the Start screen. NOTE: Y ou can also press the W indows key on your keyboard to go back to the Start screen. Fr om the Start screen: Hover your mouse point er on the lower left corner then tap/click to go back to that app.
ASUS All-in-One PC PT2001 37 Hotspot Action top side Hover your mouse point er on the top side until it changes to a hand icon. Drag then drop the app to a new location. NOTE: This hotspot function only works on a running app or when you want to use the Snap feature . Setting up a Bluetooth Wireless Connection Bluetooth technology eliminates the need f or cables for connecting to Bluetooth-enabled devices. Examples of Bluetooth-enabled devices include Notebook PCs, Desktop PCs, and mobile phones . NOTE: If your All-in-One PC do not come with a built-in Bluetooth, y ou need to connect a USB Bluetooth module in order to use Bluetooth. T o add a Bluetooth device in W indows® 8.1: 1. Double -click the W ireless Console icon in the Windows notication area and select the Bluetooth icon. Y ou can also press < FN> <F2> until the wireless LAN and Bluetooth ar e enabled. 2. Click the Bluetooth logo on the System T ray and select Add a Device from the c ontext menu . 3. In the PC settings window , click Add a device t o look for an available Bluetooth devices . 4. Chapter 4: Rec ov ering your system Entering the BIOS Setup BIOS (Basic Input and Output System) stores syst em hardware settings that are needed for sy stem startup in the ASUS All-in- One PC. In normal circumstances, the default BIOS settings apply to most conditions to ensure optimal performance. Do not change the default BIOS settings except in the f ollowing circumstances: • Anerrormessageappearsonthescreenduringthesystem bootup and requests you to run the BIOS Setup . • Y ouhaveinstalledanewsystemc omponentthatrequiresfurther BIOS settings or update. W ARNING! I nappropriate BIOS settings may result to instability or boot failure. We strongly recommend that y ou change the BIOS settings only with the help of a trained service personnel.
