Lay out all par ts and hardw are and identify . ASSEMBLING THE RAKE ⢠Attach the 24 rak e tines to the rake piv ot assembly using a 3/8" x 1" he x bolt and 3/8" nyloc k hex n ut f or each tine. Inser t the ends of the tines through the slots in the rear of the rak e pivot assemb ly . Mak e sure all nuts and bolts are securely tightened. See ﬠgure 1. ⢠Align the hitch assembly (pointing in direction sho wn) and the rak e assembly . Place the hitch assembly down onto the threaded stud on the r ake assemb ly and install the 1" slotted he x nut onto the threaded stud. Tighten the nut until it is just snug. See ﬠgure 2. FIGURE 1 FIGURE 2 ⢠Back the slotted n ut off until the ﬠrst slot in the nut lines up with the hole in the threaded stud. If the hitch assembly will not piv ot on the threaded stud, bac k the nut off to the ne xt slot. Install the cotter pin through the stud and spread the ends of the pin. See ﬠgure 3. 5 ⢠Lock the r ake assemb ly in the straight ahead position by installing the piv ot pin through the hole in the rear of the hitch assembly . Secure the pivot pin using the hair cotter pin. See ﬠgure 4. FIGURE 4 PIV OT PIN HAIR CO TTER PIN OPERA TION CA UTION: Use care when working around a raised rak e. K eep hands and f eet out from under the rak e at all times. Serious injur y can result should the rak e drop unexpectedly . Ref er to your slee v e hitch manual and to ﬠgure 5. ⢠Attach the rak e to the sleev e hitch on your tractor using the slee ve hitch pin. ⢠Screw the tw o sleev e hitch stabilizer bolts against the rak e hitch and then tighten the jam nuts to eliminate looseness in the hookup . ⢠Adjust the slee ve hitch so that the r ake is free to go below ground le vel b ut can still be raised a minimum of 5" abov e ground f or transport. ⢠Stabilizer bolts and jam nuts should be loosened bef ore removing the rak e from the slee ve hitch. CHECK FOR LOOSE F ASTENERS ⢠Bef ore each use make a thorough visual chec k of the rak e for an y bolts and nuts which ma y ha ve loosened. Retighten any loose bolts and nuts . CLEANING ⢠Wipe off or wash off loose dirt from the rake after each use to help pre vent rust. ST ORA GE ⢠Remov e all dir t and rust and touch up with paint to help pre vent rust. ⢠Store inside in a clean, dr y area. Use this rak e for scr aping and le veling of loose or lightly compacted dir t and gra v el, and for bac k ﬠlling. F or improv ed traction, use wheel weights and/or tire chains . ⢠Bef ore star ting, make sure the material to be graded, such as dir t, is dr y enough. Squeeze some in y our hand and if it f or ms a ball that does not crumble , the material may be too wet f or raking. ⢠Drive the tractor at a speed which ﬠts conditions and the type of work being performed. When lev eling with the rak e, a slow er speed will allow loose material to be more e venly deposited in lo w spots. ⢠F or light back ﬠlling work, the rake assemb ly can be re versed b y rotating it 180 degrees . This allows y ou to back up with y our tractor and push dir t to ﬠll larger holes. ⢠Do not back the r ake into piles of dir t or gr av el at high speed. HO W T O USE Y OUR RAKE ADJUSTING ANGLE OF RAKE ⢠The rak e can be angled 24 degrees in either direction as shown in ﬠgure 6. T o change the angle: a. Raise the rake so that the tines of the r ake are off the ground. b . Remov e the piv ot pin from the hitch assembly . c. Pivot the rak e assembly to the right or the left. d. Align the hole in the pivot plate with the hole in the hitch assembly . Install the pivot pin through the aligned holes and secure with the haircotter pin. ⢠T o rev erse the rak e, remov e the cotter pin and slotted nut from the threaded stud on the rak e assembly . Remov e the rak e pivot assemb ly from the hitch assembly , rotate it 180 degrees and then reattach it to the hitch assembly .
