FIGURE 2 STEP 3: (SEE FIGURE 4) Place plug on a work bench or solid table and push ⢠end of bumper do wn onto plug. Repeat f or second plug. FIGURE 4 PLUG SHORT STEP BUMPER PUSH DO WN WITH EVEN PRESSURE WORK BENCH OR SOLID T ABLE STEP 4: (SEE FIGURE 5) Inser t a carriage bolt into the second mounting hole ⢠from the front of the tractor frame and fully tighten a whizlock n ut onto the bolt. The bumper has three mounting holes . The rear ⢠hole provides the most clear ance while the f orward holes provide a neater appear ance. Use a hole that provides enough clear ance f or hood to sta y in raised position when opened. Inser t a carr iage bolt and washer through tractor fr ame and into desired mounting hole on each side of bumper and secure with a whizlock n ut. IMPORT ANT: Before fully tightening nuts , be sure tractor hood will sta y in raised position when opened. HEX BOL T AND W ASHER WHIZLOCK NUT FIGURE 6 STEP 6: (SEE FIGURE 7) Replace the browning shield using the front scre ws ⢠you remo v ed in Step 2. Remov e a (GT) Garden T ractor heat shield like the one sho wn only if y ou need access to inside of tractor frame during step 5. IMPORT ANT: Be sure to re-attac h the heat shield after bumper is installed. If bolt will not screw out of hole , check if a n ut is present on bolt on inside of frame . On GT tractors, if access to n ut is b lock ed b y a front mounted mufîer , slide mufîer down e xhaust tubes to rest on top of browning shield. IMPORT ANT: Be sure to re-attac h mufîer and heat shield after bumper is installed. If ⢠rear mounting holes in tractor frame are empty , install he x bolts and whizlock n uts supplied in the par ts bags. See îgure 5. STEP 3: (SEE FIGURE 4) Place plug on a work bench or solid table and push ⢠end of bumper do wn onto plug. Repeat f or second plug. Attach the bumper using either standard he x bolts and whizlock n uts or self threading bolts and lock w ashers. Use the self threading bolts if standard he x bolts do not inser t freely into the hole in the tractor frame . IMPORT ANT: Before fully tightening bolts, be sure tractor hood will sta y in raised position when opened.
