1 Connecting to a Netware 3.12 Serve r Windows for Workgroup s 7 Execute INSTALL.EXE . 8 Specify the settings as listed below : â C:\NWCLIEN T â Ye s â Ye s â C:\WINDOW S â N o â 3Com Fast Etherlink/Etherlink III Bus Maste r 9 Under the heading âSelect the driver for your network boardâ, insert the 3Com 3C339 drivers disk and set the path to âA:\NETWARE\CLIENT.â (If you have an HP preloaded HDD, set path to âC:\Masters\LanDrv\3C339\NWCLIENT\ ) 10 Press âEnterâ to continue the installation . 11 When prompted, insert the corresponding disks to complete file transfer and driver installation . 12 When the install utility is finished, press <CRTL><ALT><DEL> to restart the machine . 13 After Windows loads, open the âNETWORKâ folder, double-click the âNETWORK SETUPâ icon . 14 Select âNetworksâ, and verify that âNovell Netware (Workstation Shell 4.0 and above)â is listed under âInstall Windows support for the following network only:â and click on âOK. â

1 Connecting to a Netware 3.12 Serve r Windows 95 SR 2 (If you have a Hewlett-Packard pre-loaded HDD, set the path statement to âC:\MASTERS\LANDRV\3C509B\â ) 11 Highlight the adapter labeled â3Com Token Ring in PCI Modeâ and press âOK. â 12 At the âNetworkâ dialogue box, click on the âIdentificationâ folder . 13 Enter your âComputer Name,â âWorkgroup,â and âComputer Description.â (If you do not have a Computer name, Workgroup name and Computer description, contact your network administrator. ) 14 Approve the âBasic Configuration Resourcesâ by clicking on âOK. â 15 When prompted, set the path to your Windows 95 SR2 files and click on âOK. â 16 Click on âYESâ to complete installation and restart the machine .

(The Drivers will now start to copy ) 16 Finish the network card installation by clicking on âOKâ in the âNetwork Setupâ message. 17 To complete the installation, click on âRestart Computerâ button in the âWindows Setupâ dialog box.

(If you have an HP pre-loaded HDD, set the path statement to âC:\MASTERS\LANDRV\3C509B\â ) 15 Select the â3Com Token Ring in PCI modeâ and click on âOK. â 16 Accept the default Network Protocols as seen below, and click on âOK.â (If you do not have the required information, contact your network administrator) 17 Client for Microsoft Networks 18 Client for NetWare Networks IPX/SPX -compatible Protocol NetBEU I 19 In the configuration folder, click on âAddâ, then click âProtocolâ and hit enter . 20 Under âManufacturers:â high light âMicrosoftâ, and under âNetwork Protocols:â high light âTCP/IPâ and hit enter . 21 In the âNetworkâ dialog box, click on the âIdentificationâ folder and specify your Computer Name, Workgroup, and Computer Description and click on âOK.â (If you do not have the required information, contact your network administrator ) 22 Approve the basic configuration by clicking on âOK.â 23 When prompted, specify the path to your Windows 95 files. (If you have an HP preloaded HDD, set the path to âC:\MASTERS\WIN95\SYSTEM\CABS\â) 24 To complete the installation, select âYesâ to restart your computer .

3 Connecting to a Windows NT Server 3.5 1 Windows NT Workstation Version 3.5 1 9 Double click on the âNetworkâ icon and agree to install Windows NT Networking on your computer . 10 Insert the Windows NT Workstation CD. 11 In âWindows NT Setupâ, enter the path to your NT files and click on âContinue.â (If you have an HP preloaded HDD, set path to âC:\I386â ) 12 Click on âDo Not Detectâ from the â Network Adapter Card Detectionâ dialog box, and click on âContinueâ in the second âNetwork Adapter Card Detectionâ dialog box. 13 From the âDrop Down Listâ, scroll down and select â<Other> Requires disk from manufacturerâ then click on âContinueâ . 14 Set the path to âA:\â in the âInsert Diskâ dialog box, and then insert the 3COM 3C339 drivers disk . 15 Click âOKâ at the âInstall Driverâ dialog box. (If you have an HP preloaded HDD, set path to âC:\Masters\LanDrv\3C339\) 16 Select â3Com Token Ring 3C339 Adapterâ in the Select OEM Option dialog box, and click âOKâ. 17 Click on the âOKâ button in the âBus Locationâ dialog box . 18 Choose the appropriate network protocols by clicking the check boxes in the âWindows NT Setupâ dialog box and click on âContinue.â (If you do not have the required information, contact your network administrator. ) 19 Choose to install all applicable TCP/IP options and select âContinue.â (If you do not have the required information, contact your network administrator. ) 20 At the âNetwork Settingsâ dialog box, click on âOK. â 21 Accept the default âNWLink IPX/SPX Protocol Configurationâ and hit Enter . 22 At the âTCP/IP Configurationâ screen, choose to use DHCP or enter your TCP information and click on âOK.â (If you do not have the required information, contact your network administrator. )
