86 hp photosmart 315 digital camera user â s guide My p h o t o i s blu r ry . Your sub ject was too close to the camera lens. The camera â s Auto Focus range is 30cm (11.8 in.) from the front of the lens to inf inity. For a clear, sharp image, make sure your subject is within this range. The subject wasn â t centered in th e frame, or the subject did not provide enough contra st for the camera to focus properly. If you do not want your subject in the middle of the photo, or if the subject lacks con trast, set th e camera â s Auto Focus usin g a different subject. To set the Au to Focus using a different sub ject, follow these steps: 1. F rame a sub jec t that is the same distance f r om the lens as y our subject and pr ess the shut ter button 1 /2 way d own. 2. Ke e p i n g t h e shut ter button pre ssed 1/2 w a y dow n, fr ame y ou r sub jec t and the n pr es s the shutter bu t to n a l l th e way d own. The subject m oved while you took the photo. www.hp.c om/photosma rt 87 My p h o t o i s too dark . There was not enough light. Wait for natural lighting conditions to improve or use the flash to illuminate your subject (see â Using the flash â on page 39). The flash was on, but the subject was too fa r away. The flash can only illuminate objects that are within 3m (about 9 1/2 ft.) o f the camer a. Make sure your s ubject is within range of the flash when you take the photo. Your fin ger block ed the flash. Be sure to move your fin gers away from the flash w hen you are re ady to take a photo. My p h o t o i s too bright . The flash provided too much light. Change the flash setting to Auto or Off (see â Using the flash â on page 39). There was too much light provided by a natural or artif icial source other than the flash. Try taking th e photo from a differen t angle. Avoid pointing the camera direc tly toward a bright light or reflective surface on a sunny da y. Use the On flash setting if there is light behind your subject. You were too close to the subject to use th e flash. Move back from the subject or set the flash to Off and take the photo again. 2. www.hp.c om/photosma rt 87 My p h o t o i s too dark .
