Issue: Minimum disk space requirement for Ser vice Release 6.6 installation Description The H P P r oLiant Storage Ser ver should have at least 1 G B of available space on the sy stem dri ve when installing the Service Release. The spe c i ï¬ ca m o u n to fd i s k space requir ed depends on the components that are selected for installation. Wo r ka ro und Ther e is no work ar ound, other than ensuring that the sys tem driv e where the Ser v ice Release setup is installed has more than 1 G B of available disk space. T o free up di sk s pace, unnecessary ï¬ les can be deleted fr om the C:\temp fol d er . Th is situati on can also be avo ided by ensuring that only the nec essar y components are selected for installation when the Service Release setup is run. Issue: Free hard disk space requirements for Windows Ser ver 2003 Ser vice P ack 2 (SP2) Description A minimum of 1.3GB of free hard disk space is required on your sys tem when installing Window s Ser ver 2003 S P2 from the Service Release DVD . Issue: Intel N I C driver installation fails when installed over a net work share Description The i nstallation of the Intel network interface card dri ver fails when attempted over an e t w o r ks h a r e . Issue: Install Shield Error 160 7/16 28 during Ser vice Release installation Description Installation err or 1607: Unable to install Install Shield Scripting Runtime and/or 1628: failed to complete installation may be reported during installation of the Service Release. This err or can occur for var ious reasons , the most pr evalent being a driv er did not ex it proper ly when the Service Release is run the ï¬ rst time. This issue is curr entl y under inves tigation . Issue: User inter v ention require d during installati on of SMS v2. 02 on HP ProLi ant DL100 G2 servers with the I MB v3. 0 driver Description During installation of the Server M an agement Sy stem v2 .0 2 on DL100 G2 servers, the IMB v3. 0 driv er sometimes displays a secur ity warning stating the dri ver does not hav e digital signature . Issue: Some information in the Service Release may appe ar as English instead of the selected language Description During installation of the Service Release, some screens may display text as Engli sh instead of the selected l anguag e. Issue: For HP Storage W orks NAS ser vers and HP ProLiant Storage Servers with mirrored OS drives (such as the ML110 G2 Expres s model) , t he OS dri ve re-mi rr orin g ï¬ x offered in previous Ser vice Releases has been removed Description The OS d rive re- m irro rin g ï¬ x, which ensures that both disks a r e bo otable in the ev ent of a failur e of a dri v e, has b een remov ed in orde r to precl ude a condition wher e the ML11 0 G 2 Express Stor age Server (Japanese model) fails to boot fr om mirr or ed OS dri ve s. Issue: We b UI 5.6 .2 is not installed with Service Release 6.6 Description On Storage W or ks NAS products , the W eb UI 5.6 .2 patch is not installed with Servi ce Release 6.6 . Wo r ka ro u n d The W eb UI 5 .6.2 patch is copied to the C:\hpnas\components\WE- BUI_5 .6.2_Update folder . If not installed by using the HP Ser vi ce Release 6.6 Wi z ar d, the patch must be installed manually . 6
Issue: Pro viding a mapped driv e with a disconnected n etwork path might hang the HP Ser vice release Wizard Description If you pro v ide a m apped dri ve assigned to a network path that is disconnected from the Settings pa ge of the HP Service Release Wi zar d , it might h ang during the installation process. Issue: A reboot message is displayed even though th e progress of installation is no t complete Description After the installation of Window s Server 2003 Service P ack 2 , a reboot message is prompted by the H P Ser v ice Release Wi z ar d. Howe ver , the progr ess b ar show s only around 50% completion . Wo r ka ro u n d This err or message can be ignor ed. Installation issu es on sy stems using Window s Storage Ser ver 2003 NO TE: The follo wing installati on issues apply only to sy stems running Windo ws S erver 2003 that hav e not yet had Windo ws Server 2003 R2 installed. Issue: Mic rosoft hot ï¬ x KB89 4 53 7 cannot be installed on servers with Ser vices for Unix v3.5 Description Microsoft h ot ï¬ x KB89 4 5 3 7 can not be installed on ser ver s with SFU v3. 5 . Issue: The storage ser ver fails to reboot when KB840141 and Remote Storage Windows com pon ents are bot h insta ll ed Description The storage server fails to reboot when Micr os oft hot ï¬ x KB840141 and Remote Stor age Window s components are both installed on th e sy stem. Wo r ka ro u n d Ensure that hot ï¬ x KB89 6 718 (KB840141 is bundled as part of KB89 6 718) is not selected for installation during the Ser vi ce Release setup if the Remote Windo ws component is already installed on the storage ser ver . If hot ï¬ xK B 8 4 0 1 4 1i s alread y installed on the storage server , do not add the Remote Storage Window s component to the sy stem through the Micr osoft Add or Remov e Progr ams applet. Issue: HP NAS Updater installed in previous Se r vice Releases cannot be used to install Service Release 6.6 Description The HP NAS Upda ter installed with p r ev ious Ser vi ce Releases ca nnot be used to launch Ser vi ce Release 6.6. Attempting to install Ser vi ce Release 6.6 with the older utilit y might result in the error messa ge Version of NAS Updater on this system does not support installation. Please install latest version of NAS Updater . Description After installing the p r erequisite comp onents of H P Ser vice Release 6.6 , the wi z ard wi ll prompt for a re start . After the res tart, the wi z ard might not start automaticall y . Wo r ka ro u n d Start the wi z ard manually by selecting the HP Ser v ice Release Wi z ar d on the desktop . Altern ately , the wi zar d can be started through Star t > Program > HP Ser vice Rel ease > HP Se rvice Rel ease Wizard . This pr oblem will be correct ed in the next release . Issue: HP Ser vice Re lease setup does not a utomatically lauch the HP Service Release Wiz ard on x64 platforms. Description After the installation of Ser vice Release , the wi z ar d is not launched automaticall y . Wo r ka ro u n d Launch the wi z ar d manually by selecting the HP Ser vice Release Wi z ard on the desktop . Alter natel y , the wi z ar d can be launched thro ugh Star t > Program > HP Ser vice Rel ease > HP Se rvice Rel ease Wizard . This pr oblem will be correct ed in the next release . Issue: Selecting a net work path for Windows Ser ver 2003 Ser vice P ack 2 is not accepted Description When insta lling the HP Service Release using the Web update versi on, a Browse button appears on the Prerequisite pag e if Micr osoft Windows Ser ver 2003 Service P ack 2 is not installed on the sy stem . If you select a net work path for the Service P ac k 2 location, the wi z ar d will not a ccept it. Wo r ka ro u n d Copy the Micro soft Window s Server 2003 Service P ack 2 installer on t h e sy stem locally , and pro v ide the local path for selection . Issue: T h eH PS e r v i c eR e l e a s eW i z a r dh a n g s Description The HP Service Release Wi z ar d m ight appear to hang while downloading Service Release components fr om a network path. Wo r ka ro u n d The wi z ard refr eshes itself autom atically . The ref resh occurs every few seconds, and in cer tain instances c an extend to t wo minutes. If the hanging issue persists, r estart the sys tem. This will be correc ted in the next release . Issu e: Tex t in the HP Ser vice Release Wizar d is not display ed in the local language Description Component names and descripti ons in the H P Ser vi ce Release Wi zar d are not displa yed in the local language. Wo r ka ro u n d 1. Click Start > Control P anel . 2. Double-clic k Regional and Language O ptions . 3. Click t he Advanvced tab. 4. Select the loca l language from the list. 5. Check t he Apply all settings to th e c urrent user account and to the default user pro ï¬ le ch eck b ox. 6. Click OK .
