Close all applica tions. Run Internet Ex plore r 4 or late r vers ion (not N etscap e). Enter web ad dress: http://m en- backup1/ag ent - the w elcome pag e will b e display ed. Click the Next> button - the Selec t Instal lation Type p age will be d isplay ed. Click the Create New Computer Backup Account but ton - the C reate New Back up Account page will be d isplay ed. Enter th e foll owing det ails: Account Login Nam e: your normal NT user name eg men6r jw Account Password: your normal NT passwo rd Confirm Password : re-type your password Computer Desc ription: surname comma space fir stnam e space Eg Ward, Roger Click the Next> button - the Com pleting the HP Sur eStore AutoBack up Setup Wiz ard page will be display ed. Note the i nform ation abou t selec ting the Run or Open option and abou t the secur ity w arning . Click the Install bu tton. Select the Run or Open option rather than the S ave option when g iven the ch oice on wha t to do with the downloaded file. Click the Yes button when the S ecuri ty Warn ing is dis played. Restart the PC when g iven the ch oice. This stil l needs adm inistra tor rig hts at th is stag e. When the PC h as resta rted choose the Back up Now option wh en given the choice. This first back up will take 15- 60 m inutes but th e PC m ay still be used for other tasks. Following the first backup any prev ious backup on t he School Windows N T server shoul d be remov ed by deleting the fo lder H:\ userna me \Backup and all its cont ents. The B ackup to Server batch file and it s shortcut should no t be used ag ain.
