Your mobi le device is a radio tr ansmitter and recei ver. It is design ed not to exceed the limi ts for exposure to radio wave s recommende d by internationa l g uidelines. These guidelin es were developed by the indepen dent scientific organization ICNIRP and include safety margin s designed t o assure th e protection of all persons, regardless of age and health. The exposure guide lines for mobile devices employ a unit of me a sureme nt known as the Specific Abs orption Rate or SAR. The SAR limit stated in the IC NIRP guidelines is 2.0 wa tts/ k ilogram (W/kg) averaged over 10 grams of tissue. Tests for SAR are conducte d using standard op erating position s with the devic e t ransmitting a t its highest certifie d power level in a ll tested frequenc y
Additional safety information 79 bands. The actual SAR level of an operating de vic e can be below the maximum value be cause the device is designed to use only the power required to reach the network. That amou nt changes dependin g on a num ber of fac tors such as how close you are to a network base station. The highest SAR value u nder the ICNIRP guideli nes for use of the device a t the ear is 0.84 W/kg. Use of device accessories and enh ancements may result in different SAR values. SAR values may vary dependin g on nation al reporting and testing require ments and the network band. Additional SA R information m ay be provided under product information at ww w.noki a.com . Your mobile device is also de signe d to meet the requirements for exposure to radio waves established by th e F ederal Commun ications Commission (USA) and Industry Canada. T hese requirements set a SAR limi t of 1.6 W /kg averaged ov er 1 gram of tissu e. The highest SAR value reported under this standard during product c ertification for use at the ear is 1.22 W/kg a n d when properly worn on the body is 0.78 W/kg.
