Note that a new batter y's full performance may be achieved only after two or three com plete charge and discha rge cycles! The battery can be ch arged and discharged hundreds of times but it will eventually wear out. When the operating time (talk ti me an d standby time) is noticeably shorter than normal, it is tim e to buy a new bat te ry . Use only batter ies approve d by the phone manufac turer and r echarge you r battery only with the charger s approved by the manufacturer . Unpl ug the charger w hen not in use. Do not leave the bat tery connected to a charger for longer than a w eek, since overcharging may shorten its lifetime. If left unused, a fully charged battery will discharge itself ove r time. T emperatu re ext remes can affect the ability of you r battery to charge; allow it to cool down or warm up first. Use the battery only for its intended purpose. Never use any ch arger or ba ttery which is dam aged or worn out. Do not short-circuit the battery . Acc idental sh ort-circuiti ng can occur whe n a metallic ob ject (coi n, cli p, or pen ) causes d irect con nection of the and - terminals of the battery (metal strips on the battery), for example, wh en you c ar ry a spare battery in your pocket or purse. Short-circuiting the terminals may damage th e battery or the connecting obje ct. Leaving the battery in hot or cold places, such as in a closed car in summer or winter conditions, will reduce the capacity and lifetime of the battery . Always try to keep t he battery between 15°C a nd 25°C (59°F a nd 77°F). A phone w ith a hot or cold battery m ay temporarily not work, even when the batt e ry is fully charged. Batteries' performance is particularly limited in temperatures w ell below fr eezing.

It is designed and manuf actured not t o exce ed the lim its fo r exposure to radi o freque ncy (RF ) energy set by I ndustry Canada. These limits are part of comprehens ive guidelines and establish pe rmitted levels of RF e nergy for the general population. The guidelines are based on st andards that wer e d eveloped by independen t scientific org anisations throu gh per iodic and thorough evaluation of scientific studies. The guidelines include a substa nt ial safety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health. The exposure standard for mobile phones employs a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by the Industry Canada is 1.6 W/kg* T e sts for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions with the phone transmitting at its highest certified power leve l in all tested fre quency band s. Although the SAR i s determin ed at the high est certified pow er level, the actual SAR of the p hon e while oper ating c an be well below the m aximu m value . This is becaus e th e phone is designed to operate at multiple pow er levels so as to use only th e power required to reach the n etwork. In general, the closer you are to a base station, the low er the powe r output of the phone. Before a ph one model is availabl e for sale to th e public, complian ce with the Canadian Sta n dard must be shown. The highest SAR value for this model phone wh en tested for u se at the ear is 1.24 W/Kg (3560) and 1.18 W/kg (3520 ) and when wor n on the body , as described in this user guide is 0.75 W/Kg (3560) and 0.59W/kg (3 520). (Body-worn measurements differ among ph one models, depending upon available a ccessories and Industry Canada r equirements). While there may be differences betwee n the SAR levels of various phones and at various positions, they all meet the government requirem ent for RF exposure. * The SAR li mit for mobile phones used by the public is 1.6 watts/kilogram (W/kg) averaged over one gram of body tissue. The standard incorporates a substan tial margin of s af ety to give additional protection for the public and to account for any va riations in mea surem ents. SAR va lues may vary depending on national r e porting requ irements and th e network band. For SAR information in other region s please look under product information at www .no kia.com .
