Th ese guideli nes were developed by the independe nt scientific organisa tion ICNIRP and include safety margins des igned to assure the protection of all persons, re gardless of age a nd health. The exposure guid elines for mobile device s employ a unit of measurement know n as the Specifi c Absorption Rate or SAR. The SAR limit stat ed in the ICNI RP guidelines is 2.0 watt s/ kilogram (W/kg) averaged over 10 grams of tissue. Tests fo r SAR are conducted using st andard operating positions with the device tra nsmitting at its highest certi fied power level i n all tested freque ncy bands. The actual SAR l evel of an operating device can b e below the maximum va lue because the device is desig ned to use only the power required to reac h the network. That a mount changes depending on a number of factors such as how close you ar e to a networ k base station. The highest SAR value under the ICNIRP guidelin es for use of the device at the ear is 1.06 W/kg. Use of devi ce accessor ies may res ult in differ ent SAR va lues. SAR values may vary depending on national reporting and testing re quireme nts and the network band.
