Digital rights management Content owners may use different types of digital rights management (DRM) technologies to protect their intellectual property, including c opyrights. This device uses variou s types of DRM softwa re to access DRM-pro tected conten t. With this device you can access content protected with WMDRM 10, OMA DRM 1.0, OMA DRM 1.0 forward lock, and OMA DRM 2.0. If certain DRM soft ware fails to pr otect the content, c ontent owners may ask tha t such DRM software's ability to access new DRM-protected co ntent be revoked. Revocation may also prevent renewal of such DRM-pr otected content already in your device. Revocation of such DRM software does not affect the use of content prot ected with other type s of DRM or th e use of non-DRM-protected content. Digital rights management (DRM) pr otected content comes with an associated licence that defines yo ur rights to use the content. If your device has OMA DRM-protect ed content, to back up both the licence and the content , use the backup feature of Nokia Ovi Suite. Other tr ansfer methods m ay not tra nsfer th e licence which need to be restore d with th e content f or you to be able to continue the use of OMA DRM-protected content after the device memory is f ormatted. You may a lso need to restore the licence in case the fil es on your device get corrupted . Battery Battery and char ger information Your device is powered by a rechargeable bat tery. The battery intended for use with this de vice is BL-5 CT. Nokia m ay make additional batt ery models avail able for this device . This device i s inte nded fo r use whe n sup plied w ith pow er from the following chargers: AC-8/AC -15. The exact charger model number may vary depend ing on the type of plug. The plug variant is identified by one of the followi ng: E, EB, X, AR, U, A, C, K, or UB. The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but it w ill eventually wear out. When the t alk and standby times are noticea bly shorter than normal, replace the battery. Use on ly Nokia approved batt eries, and recharge your battery only wi th Nokia approved chargers d esignated for this device. If a battery is b eing used for the fir st time or if the ba ttery has not been used for a pr olonged per iod, it may be necessa ry to connect the charger, the n disconnect and reconnect it to begin charging the batt ery. If the battery is completely discharged, it may take several mi nutes before the charg ing indicator appear s on the display or before any calls can be made. Safe removal. Always switch the device off and disconnect the charger before removing th e battery. Proper chargi ng. Unplug the charger from the electrical plug and the device when not in use. Do not leave a fully charged battery connected to a charger, since overcharging may shorten its lifetime. If left unused, a fully charged battery will lose its charge over time. Avoid extreme temperatures. Always try to keep the battery between 15ðC and 25ðC (59ðF and 77ðF). Extreme tempera tures red uce the capacity and life time of the batte ry. A device with a hot or cold battery may not work te mporarily. Battery pe rformance is particularly limited in temperature s well below freezi ng. Do not short-circuit. Accidental sho rt-circuiting can occur when a metallic object such as a coin, clip, or pen causes direct connection of the pos itive ( ) and negative (-) terminals of the battery. ( These look like metal st rips on the b attery.) This might happen, fo r example, when you carry a spa re battery in your po cket or pur se. Short- circuit ing the te rminals m ay damage the battery or the conne cting object. Disposal. Do no t dispose of bat teries in a fir e as they may explode. Di spose of batt eries accordi ng to local re gulations. Please recycle when possible. Do not d ispose as househ old waste. Leak. Do not dismantle, cut, open, crush, bend, puncture, or shred cells or batter ies. In the event of a batt ery leak, prevent battery liquid c ontact with skin or eyes. If this happ ens, flush the affected a reas immediatel y with water, or seek medical help. Damage. Do not modify, remanufacture, attempt to inser t foreign objec ts into the bat tery, or immerse or expose it to water or ot her liquids. Bat teries may exp lode if damaged. Correct use. Use the batt ery only for its intended purpose. Improper battery use ma y result in a fire, explosion, or other hazard. If the device or ba ttery is drop ped, especially on a hard surface, and you believe the battery has been damaged , take it to a service centre for inspection before continuing to 52 Product and safety information Product and saf ety informat ion 20 1 0 é Nokia. The SAR l imit stated in the ICNIR P guidelin es is 2.0 watts/ kilogram (W/kg) averaged over 10 grams of tissue. Tests for SAR are conducted using sta ndard operating positions with the device trans mitting at its h ighest certif ied power level in all tested frequency b ands. The actual SAR level of an operating device can be below the maximu m value because the device is designed t o use only the powe r required to rea ch the network.
