Safe removal. Always switch the device off and di sconnect the charger before removing th e battery. Proper charging. U nplug the charger from the electric al plug and the device when not in use. Do not leave a fully charged batte ry connected to a charger , since overcharging may shorte n its lifetime. If left unused, a full y charged battery will lose its char ge over time. Avoid extreme t emperatures. Always t ry to keep the battery betw een 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F). Extreme temperatur es reduce the capacity and lif etime of the battery. A device with a hot or cold ba ttery may not work temporarily. Ba ttery performance is particularly limited in temperatures well below fre ezing. Do not short-circuit. Accidental sho rt-ci rcuiting can occur when a metallic object such as a coin, clip, or pen causes direct connection of the posit ive ( ) and negative (-) t erminals of the batte ry. (These look like met al strips on t he battery.) This m ight happen, for example , when you carry a spare battery in your po cket or purse. Short- circuiting the terminals may damag e the battery or the connect ing object. Disposal. Do not d ispose of batter ies in a fire as the y may expl ode. Dispose of batteries according to local regul ations. Pleas e recycle when po ssible. Do not d ispose as household waste. Leak. Do not dismantle , cut, open, crush, bend, puncture, or sh red cell s or batterie s. In the event of a battery lea k, prevent battery liquid contact with skin or eyes. If this hap pens, flush the affected areas immed iately with water, or seek medical hel p. Damage. Do not modify, remanufacture, attemp t to insert foreign objects into the battery, or immerse or ex pose it to water or other liquids. Batteries may explod e if damaged. Correct use. U se the battery onl y for its intended pu rpose. Improper bat tery use may result in a fire, explosion, or o ther haza rd. If the device or battery is dropped, e specially on a hard surf a ce, and you belie ve the battery has been damaged, take it to a service centre for inspection before continuing to use it. Never use any cha rger or batter y that is dama ged. Keep your batter y out of the reach of sma ll child ren. Nokia battery authentication guidelines Always use original Nokia ba tteries for your safety. Certification informa tion (SAR) This mobile device meets guidel ines for exposure to radio waves. Your mobile dev ice is a radio transmitter an d receiver. It i s designed not to exceed the limits for expos ure to radio waves recommended by internat ional guidelines . These guidelines were de veloped by the independent sc ientific organisati on ICNIRP and include safety ma rgins designed to as sure the prot ecti on of all persons, re gardless of age and health. The exp osure guidel ines for mobile dev ices emp loy a unit of me asurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate or SAR. The SAR limit stated i n the ICNIRP guidelines is 2.0 watt s/kilogram (W/kg) averaged o ver 10 grams of tissue. Test s for SAR are conducted using st andard operating posi tions with the device tr ansmitting at its highest certified power leve l in all tested frequency bands. The actual SAR level of an operating device can be below the maximum value because the device is designed to use only the power required to reach the network. That amount changes depending on a numbe r of factors such as how close you are to a network base stati on. The highest SAR value under the ICNIRP guid elines for use of the device at the ear is 0.97 W/kg. Use of device accessorie s may result in different SAR values. SAR values may vary dependin g on national reporting and testing requirements and the netwo rk band. Additional SAR info rmation ma y be provided under prod uct information at www.nok ia.com.
