Background Use a simple ba ckgrou nd. For portraits and other pictures with people, avoid having your subjec t in front of a cluttered, complex background t hat may distract attentio n from the subject. Move the camera, or the subject, when these conditions cannot be met. Move the camera closer to the object to take clearer portraits. Depth When shooting landscapes and sc eneries, to add depth to your pictures, place objects into the foreground. If the foreground object is too clos e to the camera, it may be blurred.
Copyright © 2007 N okia. All rights reserved. Camera 21 Lighting conditions Changing the source, amount, and direction of light can change photographs dramatica lly. The following are s ome typical lighting c onditions: • Light source behind th e subject. Avoid p lacing your subject in front of a strong light source. If the light source is behind the subject or visible in the display, the resulting picture may have weak contrast, may be too dark, and may contain u nwant ed light effects. You can also use the flashlight to add more lighting to shadows. See "Flash" on page 19 . • Sidelit subject. Strong side lig ht gives a dramatic effect but may be too hars h, resulting in too much contrast. • Light source in front of the subject. Harsh sunlight may cause the subjects to squint their eyes. The contrast may also be too high. • Optimal li ghting is found in situations where there is plenty of diffused, soft lig ht available, for example, on a bright, partially cloudy day or on a sunny day in the shadow of trees. The battery can be charged and dis charged hundreds of t imes, but it w ill eventually wear out. When th e talk and standby t imes are noticeably shorter than normal, replace the battery. Use o nly Nokia appr oved batteries, and re ch arge your battery only with Nokia approved chargers designated for this device. If a replacement bat tery is being used for the first time or if the battery has not been used for a prolonge d period, it may be necessary to connect the charger, then disconnec t and reconnect it to begin charging the battery. Unplug the charger from the elec trical plug and the device when not in use. Do not leave a fully charged battery connected to a charge r, since overcharging may shorten its lifetime. If left unused, a fully charged battery will lose its charge over time. If the battery is completely di scharged, it may take several minutes before t he charging indicator appears on the d isplay or before any calls can be made . Use the battery only for it s intended purpose. Never use any charger or battery that is damaged. Do not sho rt-circui t the battery. Accidental short-circuiting can occur when a metallic object such as a coin, clip, or pen causes direct connection of th e positive ( ) and negative (-) terminals of the battery. (These look like metal strips on the battery.) This might happen, for example, when you carry a spare battery in your pocket or purse. Short-circui ting the terminals may damage the batt ery or the connecting object. Leaving the battery in hot or cold places, s uch as in a closed car in summer or wint er condit ions, will reduce the capacity and lifetime of the battery. Always try to keep the battery between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77° F). A device with a hot or cold battery may not work temporarily, even when the battery is fully charged. Battery performance is particularly limited in temperatures well below freezing. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire as they may explode. Batteries may also explode if damaged. Dispose of batteries according to local regulations . Please recycle when possible. Do not dispose as household waste. Do not dismantle or shred cells or batteries. In t he event of a battery leak, do not allow the liquid to come in contact with the skin or eyes. In the event of such a leak, flush your skin or eyes immediately with water, or seek medical help. Y our mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver . It is designed not to exceed the limit s for exposure to radio waves recommended by internationa l guidelines. These guidelines were developed by the independent scientific organization ICNIRP and include safety marg ins designed t o assure the protection of all persons, regardless of age and health. The exposure guidelines for mobile devices e mploy a unit of measurement known as the Sp ecif ic Absorption Rate or SAR. The SAR limit stated in the IC NIRP guidelines is 2.0 watts/ kilogram (W/kg) averaged over 1 0 grams of tissue. Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions with the device transmitt ing at its highest certified power level in all tested freq uency bands. The actual SAR level of an operating device can be belo w the maximum value because the device is de signed to use on ly the power required to reach the network. That amount chan ges depending on a number of factors such as how close you are to a network base station. The highest SAR value under the ICNIRP guidelines for use of the device at the ear is 0.92 W/kg. Use of device accessories and enhancements ma y result in different SAR values. SAR values may vary depending on national reporting and testing requi rements and the network band. Additional SAR i nformation may be provided under product information at www .nokia-asia.com.
