Nev er place the baby unit inside the bab yâ s bed or pla ypen. 2 Set channel selection switches to the same channel on both units. 3 Connect the pow er adapter to Baby unit sock et. 4 Plug the pow er adapter into mains supply . 5 Mov e awa y fr om the Baby unit with the Parent unit. If units are positioned too close to each other then a high-pitched noise can be heard 6 Connect the second pow er adapter to the Parent unitâ s charging base sock et. 7 Plug the second pow er adapter into a mains supply . 8 Place the Parent unit inside its charging base. > The red char ging light lights. 9 Lea ve the Par ent unit in charging base for at least 14 hours to fully charge the batteries. When batter ies are fully charged, the Parent unit can be used cordlessly f or up to 12 hour s. 10 Place the Parent unit inside the charging base when po wer light on the Parent unit flashes gr een (an indication that batteries are low). ENGLISH 6 Using y our baby monitor Listening to y our baby 1 Push the pow er button on the Baby unit to turn it on. > The pow er light lights (green). 2 Adjust the micr ophone sensitivity of the Baby unit to a level y ou pref er (using your o wn voice as a sound ref erence). 3 Switch the Parent unit on and adjust the v olume to lev el you pref er using the V OLUME ON/OFF contr ol. The digital SYSTEM CHECK light lights continuously (green) when the Parent unit and Bab y unit are in touch with each other . Alwa ys make sure that the channel selection switches on both units are set to the same position. Monitoring bab y silently Adjust the volume on the Par ent unit to the lowest le vel using the V OLUME ON/OFF control (do not s witch off). > the sound-level lights visuall y aler t y ou to babyâ s sounds. The more sound your bab y makes, the more lights light. Checking that the units ar e in touch Check that the digital SYSTEM CHECK light on the Par ent unit lights continuously (gr een) to confirm that the connection between both units is reliable. If the light flashes (green), mov e the Parent unit closer to the Baby unit. The light flashes if the units are out of r ange for more than 30 seconds or if there is interference . Switching on the system check alarm Y ou can switch on the system check alar m on the P arent unit that beeps when the units are not in touch. The P arent unit is delivered with the system check alar m switched off. 1 Open the Parent unitâ s batter y compar tment cov er . 2 Set the switch inside compartment to the ON position ( " ). 3 Close batter y compartment cover . The SYSTEM CHECK light can still flash even if the system check alarm is switched off. Switching on the night light Push the Baby unit night light to switch it on and off. > Switch off the night light when oper ating the Baby unit on batteries to conser ve pow er . Range 200m in open air The baby monitor has an operating r ange of up to 200 metres in ideal open-air conditions. This means that the units can see each other with no obstacles in between. W alls, ceilings, lar ge objects and even glass affect the oper ating range . The more obstacles there are in between, the shor ter the oper ating range . ENGLISH 8 Using batteries Operating the Bab y unit cordlessly 1 Remov e the batter y compar tment cov er using a coin. 2 Insert four 1.5V , LR6 (AA) batteries noting the and - configuration inside the batter y compartment. Batter ies not included; we recommend non-chargeable Philips Alkaline batter ies. 3 Put the cov er back in place and secure using a coin. > If the pow er light flashes (red) install new batter ies. The unit oper ates for up to 30 hour s on batteries. Replacing the P arent unitâ s batter y pack 1 Open the Parent unitâ s batter y compar tment cov er . 2 Disconnect the old batter y pack fr om the power plug and r emove. 3 Carefull y connect the new batter y pack to the pow er plug and place inside the batter y compartment. 4 Close batter y compartment cover . Remo ve the batter y-pack fr om the Parent unit if it is not used f or long periods. Batteries Dispose of used batteries in an envir onmentally friendly manner . Do not mix old and new batter ies, or different types of batteries. Remov e Baby unit batteries if the baby monitor is not to be used for long per iods.
