10 6 Get star ted 6.1   Chargey ourheadset Befor e you use y our headset for the first time, charge the batter y for 6 hours for optim um batter y capacity and life time.  W arning Use only the original charger or a standar d aftermark et micro USB cable for charging. Using another charger ma y damage or destro y your headset. Caution Finish your call bef ore charging the headset, as connecting the headset for charging will cut an ongoing call. During charging you can operate the headset normally . Plug the charger into a wall outlet and connect the charger cable to the headsets charging sock et. During recharging the LED indicator will sho w a red light. The LED will turn off once charging is complete. If you tr y to charge the headset when it is full the LED will not light up . T ypically a full charge will tak e 2 hours, during this time you can use y our headset for calls and music.  Tip Y ou can sa ve energy and pr otect the envir onment by unplugging the charger after charging is complete.

P airinghastobedoneonlyonce , befor e usingy ourheadsetwithy ourmobile phoneoranotherBluetoothde viceforthe veryfirsttime . • Only if y ou pair more than tw o differ ent Bluetooth devices with y our headset, you ma y need to pair the pre viously paired de vices again. Y our headset can store up to tw o paired de vices in its memor y , if you pair mor e than two de vices the oldest paired de vice is ov erwritten. • “Pairing” is differ ent from “connecting” as pairing typically only has to be done once, whereas the phone and headset need to “connect” ev er y time one of the two de vices was turned off or out of range. With typical phone settings your Philips T apster Bluetooth stereo headset will connect automaticall y to your phone after y ou turned on the headset. 2 Make sur e your mobile phone is on and its Bluetooth featur e is enabled. 3 Press On/Off  on the right earpiece until the LED starts blinking red and blue alternately . The headset will now remain in “pairing mode” for 5 minutes. 4 Pair the headset with your mobile phone as described below . A sample pairing is shown below . Check your phone’ s user manual for specific details. • Access the Bluetooth menu on y our mobile phone typically called “Setup”, “Settings”, “Bluetooth” or “Connectivity”. • Select the option to discov er , add or search for a Bluetooth de vice. After a few seconds your phone should indicate that it has f ound the “Philips T apster”. • Upon selecting the “Philips T apster” on y our mobile phone typically y ou will need to confirm the pairing and enter a passcode. 12 4 Optional: For an extra-secure sports fit, attach the earhook. A. Insert the ball between the earpiece and the earshell until it rests in the sock et which is located between the earpiece and the earshell. B. Rotate the hook to fit y our ear . C . Slide the hook ov er your ear . D . F ollow steps 2 and 3 as abov e . 6.3   Fittingy ourheadset 1 Select your cap size f or the best find and optimum sound performance. It is not unusual to fit tw o different exchangeable rubber ear cap sizes on the right and left earpiece. 2 Place the exchangeable rubber ear cap in your ear and r otate the headset backward for a snug fit. 3 Bring the connecting wire to the back of the neck and insert the second earpiece . Please enter the headsets passcode “0000” (four zer os). After successful pairing, the headset will connect to the mobile phone. Y ou will hear a long beep to confirm successful pairing and the headsets LED will change fr om flashing red/blue to periodically flashing blue e very three seconds. L M S A B

Y ou will hear an ascending activation and descending de-activation tone when inserting or remo ving your Philips T apster Bluetooth ster eo headset. The whole outer shell of the earpieces is touch sensitive. Y ou can control all functions of the headset with these basic motions. After a few minutes of familiarizing y ourself with the new touch contr ols you should find this wa y of contr olling the headset faster and simpler than button based headsets. 7 Using y our touch sensitiv e Philips T apster Bluetooth ster eo headset 7.1  Connecty ourPhilips T apster              Bluetoothstereoheadsettoy our    mobilephone T urn on the headset by pressing On/Off   until the LED lights up . Once turned on the headset will reconnect automaticall y to the last device it was connected to . If the last connected device is not a vailable the headset tries to reconnect to the second to last device that was connected to the headset. If you turn the mobile phone or its Bluetooth featur e on after turning on the headset connect the headset fr om your mobile phones Bluetooth menu. 7.2   Automaticpo wersa ving If your headset cannot find an y Bluetooth device to connect to in range within f i ve minutes it will automatically pow er down to sa ve battery life . The LED will also continuously flash r ed with about five min utes of talk time remaining. 8.2   Learnaboutsimultaneoususefor   voiceandaudio Y our Bluetooth stereo headset can connect to one Bluetooth audio sour ce (supporting the A2DP and A VRCP Bluetooth profile) and one Bluetooth communication sour ce (suppor ting HFP or HSP Bluetooth pr ofile) at the same time. Theref ore y ou can connect your Bluetooth stereo headset • with a Bluetooth stereo enabled phone to both listen to music and lead calls, or • with a Bluetooth phone that only supports Bluetooth communication (i.e. does not support Bluetooth stereo (A2DP)) to lead calls and at the same time to a Bluetooth stereo de vice (Bluetooth enabled MP3 pla yer , Bluetooth audio adapter etc.) to listen to music. Make sur e to pair the phone first with your Bluetooth headset, then turn both the phone and headset off to then pair the Bluetooth audio device. With the SwitchStream f eature y ou can listen to music and monitor y our calls at the same time . While listening to music, you will hear a ring tone when receiving a call and can s witch to the call simply by ta pping the earpiece .
17 E N G L I S H 8.3   LearnaboutFullSound FullSound is a smart digital sound enhancement algorithm, which runs on a powerful pr ocessor inside your Bluetooth headset. It restor es and enhances bass, treble, stereo eff ects and dynamics of compressed m usic and leads to a more natural, “real lif e” sound experience based on years of acoustic r esearch and tuning. There ar e two FullSound settings on y our Philips T apster Bluetooth ster eo headset: • The “Natural” FullSound setting is optimized for the most natural, audiophile repr oduction of music, ideal for classical, acoustic, Jazz and voice dominated m usic . • The “Dynamic Bass” setting emphasizes deep frequencies f or a more pow erful bass ideal for Hip Hop , T echno and other bass driven music styles, or for extra motivation during your w ork out. When you buy the pr oduct the “Natural” FullSound setting is enabled. T o switch betw een the two settings double ta p the left earshell two times. The “Natural” FullSound setting is confirmed by an ascending tone, the “Dynamic Bass” FullSound setting is confirmed by a descending tone.
